With the unexpectedly early heat that has arrived we find ourselves pushing North early. One of the hikes that has been on our radar for some time was the one up to Brown's Peak. The peak is located in the Four Peaks area, in fact it is one of the Four Peaks. The hike is only 5.2 miles round trip and can easily be done as a day hike. If you are feeling bold, you can even attempt the Mother Lode. This includes a loop that summits all four peaks in an off trail adventure with exposure. Back to our hike.
The hike in is rather easy with a few spots of technical hiking. The technical spots wouldn't be bad if it weren't for the snow we encountered in the final climb. It wasn't bad, but it definitely complicated the climb. The view at the top of the peak is great. Humprheys, Mount Lemmon, all the Phoenix preserves and Mount Graham are visible from the summit.
