In between chasing vert and dodging rattlesnakes, we all grow up. Whether we admit it or not, life changes happen. After beating me down for months, Sara finally got the better of me and I proposed to her. We have always thought of ourselves as a less conventional couple, so finding the perfect ring was no easy task. At the time I was making my living working on ropes, in environments that would destroy a conventional wedding band. I turned to alternatives and started researching the expanding market of silicon rings. Just like conventional rings I had my choices; colors, shapes, width, and patterns all played a role in my decision. After some time I decided to go with a company called Groove Life.

The Short Story-
I ordered the rings online through Groove's website and quickly received the shipment in the mail. The flexible but strong silicon rings were easy to slide on and off the hand. There is some resistance when the hands are wet, but that is expected. Because the rings are flexible they mold to the shape of your fingers better then conventional rings. On skin side of the rings are grooves (hence the name) that are said to promote airflow. I never had a chance to try any of the alternatives on the market, so I really am unsure if this makes a difference. Wearing it in 100 degree heat and in really humid environments I have not noticed any discomfort. The exterior of the ring is a polished solid color with minimal markings. A small 'Infinite' symbol is present, but it is only noticable under close inspection.
Because I was unsure what size Sara needed I gave it a guess but was unfortunately a size too large. I contacted them the following day and they quickly sent out a replacement (for free) as well as provided free shipping to return the incorrect sized one. Additionally if you are unhappy with the rings, they will easily take them back. The unlimited warranty provides covers everything from breaking it (unlikely) to losing it. Although I have not had to utilize this yet, if their quick response from above is a indication; I have no concerns about the validity of this claim.
Since I placed the ring on my finger it has been there. Indoor rock climbing? Check. Mountain biking? Check. Wearing gloves during work? Check. No matter when I have the ring on, it is nice to not have to think about it. I don't have to think about the potential for snagging it and injuring myself or even be concerned about losing it. Probably the only negative side to wearing this ring is Sara having to answer to the materialistic women who question if she got a 'real' ring. [rolls eyes]
Pros-
-Put it on and never think about it again. Easily forget you are wearing it.
-Unlimited life time warranty. Hell yeah.
-Interesting conversation piece for your 'non-material focused' acquaintances.
Cons-
-Initial cost of $30 per ring can seem hefty.
-Unable to try the rings on ahead of time at a local establishment.
-Limited color combinations available.
